Summary: A miniature version of the seven dragon balls from the Dragon Ball Z anime! Each of the seven dragon balls is represented in the model by a separate star that corresponds to their amount. The model was designed to suit a 15 x 15 space with a support system. For best model presentation, we created an innovative stand that positions the model at a 70.00 degree angle. Lesson plan + activity: My coworker Ayanna Vegas and I were given the assignment to use SolidWorks to develop a piece of 2D art for this project. Our final goal was to produce identical designs while improving our teamwork and SolidWorks 3D modeling ability. Parts:  Stavega2dart_s_ Displayblackdisplay for the printhatchbox blackStavega2dart_s_newball1orangedragon ball 1transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_newball2orangedragon ball 2transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_newball3orangedragon ball 3transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_newball4orangedragon ball 4transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_newball5orangedragon ball 5transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_newball6orangedragon ball 6transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_newball7orangedragon ball 7transparent orangeStavega2dart_s_new stars1redstars for first dragon balltrans redStavega2dart_s_newstars2redstars for second dragon balltrans redStavega2dart_s_newstars3redstars for third dragon balltrans redStavega2dart_s_newstars4redstars for fourth dragon balltrans redStavega2dart_s_newstars5redstars for fifth dragon balltrans redStavega2dart_s_newstars6redstars for sixth dragon balltrans redStavega2dart_s_newstars7redstars for seventh dragon balltrans red Assembly/Construction:  Start with all dragon balls with stars put into them (don't have photos of putting stars in)Put each star starting with the 7 star in the middle then the 1 star at the top counting up stars to the right Design choices: To provide a more see-through background, the first design decision was to drill holes in the display's gaps. We had originally planned to have a flat display, but we wanted to add additional background detail, so we finished in the spaces between the gaps by cut extruding, and fileting the edges. For this project, I went with a more reflective final color for the stars and dragon balls to better resemble the real thing in the anime. My partner and I ultimately decided to go with the orange and red with more shine as the other options were a more matte orange and red that matched the display better but wouldn't match the in-show objects.
