Support my future designs and developments at https://www.patreon.com/BangEnterprisesJust a 3D printer I designed, printed, assembled, and use. It's designed to use 2020 aluminum extrusion. All of the mounting holes are metric. The Z lead screw nut mount is designed to fit 2040.I tried to make the design fairly modular and reversible. Stepper Mount can just be reversed for axis B, Idler Mount A can be reversed for B, etc... I added an additional X gantry design, in case your design has pillow blocks that don't encroach into the print space. Those are just what I had on-hand.You can choose to manually square the X gantry, or add an end stop to both A and B, to allow the machine to square itself for every print.I designed this to have the Z axis driven by pulley, but I might switch to one stepper per screw, to increase torque. My motors aren't powerful enough to overcome the friction at the bottom of the travel. I might need to design a temporary stop, and reduce the print space, until I figure out what the mechanical issue is.This current design functions decently, and is capable of decent accuracy, but the stepper mounts flex over time, due to the thin walls of the mount, and the heat generated by the motors. I've designed better mounts, but I haven't tested them yet.Let me know if you build this, how it works for you, and any suggestions you might have.I might redesign the belt mount for the back of the carriage, to make it more printable. Right now your printer has to be capable of pretty long overhangs, which isn't ideal.I might also redesign the Z motor mount to include the Z endstop, design an additional Z endstop for mounting to the vertical section of the frame, and design separate X and Y endstops from the motor mounts and carriage, to allow for more modularity.Feel free to design your own carriage, to make the design work for your preferred extruder, cooling, and probing. It's just an 80x80mm square, with 3mm mounting holes that are inset by 5mm from both sides.2024/04/11: Added the bed, some missing parts, fixed some issues, bowden extruder, vertical mounting Z endstop (Or any endstop), a machinable Z motor mount (if you have access to a mill), and fixed the E3D V6 carriage.
