Dragedrage (kite from plastic bag)
prusaprinters

Getting my kids to agree to go outside for a bit is a real challange nowadays. Making a kite helps, I hope. Four corners are fused to the bag somehow. The center piece holds scrap wood sticks together. holes for the sticks are 8mm.

Print instructions

I used a soldering iron and plunged both plastics and then pressed with my finger to smear them together. I don't know if PLA really fuses with the plastic bag but the joint holds up better than the plastic itself, it seems. The consept derived from our banged up Buzz Lightyear kite that stopped flying. Leftover plastic is used as tails to improve stability. Half a meter of wire connects to the two vertical sticks through the plastic bag, and a small loop is knot to mark the right balance point for the winder. It took me two tries to get the balance right.
