Drag Free Spool

This is a simple spool adapter that makes use of rubber bands to secure both sides of the spool adapter. It takes less than 30 seconds to install, and is quite simple to print and put together. The result, simple. A drag free spool that will remove even more artifacts from your prints. The bearing used is meant to be glued in place, and its a 608ZZ flanged bearing. One could use regular bearing or make the center so tight that glue would not be necessary. You can use 5/16 or 8mm rods with this, threaded or not. But no threads are required. Enjoy! Jeff -- Update Added new STL for 57mm, 53mm, 40mm, 38mm and 30mm spool. I can add others upon request. Instructions Print two parts at .25 layer height, 80% infill rectilinear. Use two 608zz flanged bearing, glue them in place with epoxy, like shown on the picture. Use two #32 rubber band (3in) to hold the two parts snug, pulling towards each other inside the spool mounting hole. Place on 5/16 or 8mm shafts, threaded or not.
