Dr Who Tardis Switch Plate Cover

I've been hooked on Doctor Who since the start, but we all have our own favorite Time Lord actor. I remember staying up late on Saturday nights to catch each new episode on PBS, my eyes glued to the screen as Tom Baker's era unfolded with Ramana and K-9 on a quest for the fragments of the Key to Time. It's no coincidence that Doctor Who told this story 25 years before Infinity Stones made it cool. The Doctor's time machine, the Tardis, was an incredible invention that allowed him to travel through space and time freely. When it landed in London in 1963, its outside took on the shape of a police call box, which is how it ended up being frozen in that form forever. That iconic look became synonymous with the show's magic. You can still find real police boxes in London today, many of them abandoned but still standing strong, a testament to the fans who continue to celebrate the show. And I'm one of those fans - I 3D printed my own Tardis switch plate on February 29, 2020. I think I nailed the proportions perfectly, thanks to years of researching and comparing reference photos. The prop team built multiple versions of the police box over the years, each with its own unique features and flaws. As you watch the show, you'll see seven distinct variations, no two exactly alike. The print took an incredible 11 hours and a half, which is why I chose blue filament for my first roll - it was the perfect fit for this project. I'm making it as a special gift for my daughter-in-law Amanda, who shares my love for Doctor Who. Thanks for stopping by!
