Dr. Who Gallifreyan Name Dish
thingiverse
I created the design using an Android app from Gallifrey, which converts words and names into their corresponding symbols. The Gallifreyan symbol for Jillian is what I used, obtained by typing in her name through the app. This particular design was crafted with Tinkercad, a 3D modeling software, referencing an image provided by the app. It measures 200mm x 200mm in outer diameter and has varying heights of 20mm and 30mm. This shallow dish is intended to showcase stones or crystals, and I printed it using PLA and PETG filaments. For the PETG print, I employed a raft to secure the material, while also covering my 3D printer with a makeshift enclosure due to drafts from nearby windows in Wisconsin's climate. Even with PLA, I experienced warping issues during the winter months. However, once I erected a temporary enclosure around my Cartesian-style MTW Create 3D printer, I no longer encountered warping problems when printing PETG or PLA. This design can be edited online at Tinkercad: https://www.tinkercad.com/things/2iUs9ynN57z.
