Dr. Vegapunk is the lead scientist for the SSG, the Navy's Special Scientific Division. His work includes discovering the secrets and uses of the Kairoseki, the secrets of how Devil Fruit powers work, co-discovering the Lineage Factor and its applications, creating the Pacifists and Seraphim, and various other scientific achievements that are currently underway. at least 500 years ahead of current technology. He was born on Karakuri, a technologically advanced island and currently resides in Egg Head, where his laboratory is located. Before being employed by the World Government, Vegapunk was part of an illegal research group known as MADS, where he worked alongside other notable scientists such as Ceasar Clown, Vinsmoke Judge, and Queen. The group was eventually arrested and Vegapunk was integrated into the Navy as chief scientist after the dissolution of MADS.
