Ibrahim Starova, widely recognized as Ibrahim Temo, was a prominent Ottoman Albanian politician, revolutionary, intellectual, and medical doctor with a distinguished career. Born in Struga within the Ottoman Empire, he joined forces with Mehmed Reshid and fellow physician Abdullah Cevdet to form a forward-thinking secret society, later evolving into the Committee of Union and Progress (CUP). Their primary goal was to overthrow the absolute rule of Ottoman Sultan Abdul Hamid II. Their efforts ultimately succeeded in the Young Turk Revolution of 1908. The CUP, along with its unofficial arm, the Young Turks, compelled Abdul Hamid II to reinstate constitutional monarchy within the Ottoman Empire, marking the beginning of the Second Constitutional Era. Temo was also instrumental in founding the Society for the Publication of Albanian Writings. His legacy extends beyond politics; he is remembered as a champion of intellectual pursuits and social change. Temo passed away in Medgidia, Romania in 1939, leaving behind a lasting impact on his community. In recognition of his contributions, a high school in Struga bears his name.
