Dr. Brown Drying Rack

thingiverse

This is a drying rack designed specifically for Dr. Brown baby bottle parts. They have an overwhelming number of components, making it frustrating to organize them to dry. Both the green vent tube and blue vent tube style bottle parts will fit seamlessly into the rack. The MK3 design can hold eight nipples and seven vent tubes (short 4 oz tubes and long 8 oz tubes are both compatible). The MK5 design holds a total of eight nipples, eight vent tube inserts, and seven vent tubes. However, if you use long (8 oz) vent tubes, two of the vent tube inserts will become unusable. Either design can fit comfortably on a 200 x 200 build plate, but it's quite snug. I've included STLs with/without Meshmixer supports for your convenience. These STLs are designed to produce a fully functional piece, although there are a few things I would do differently if I had the chance: 1. I didn't realize that it was possible to increase the number of segments for a circle in SketchUp, so the circles appear as rough polygons rather than smooth curves. 2. The two vent tube inserts that become unusable when using long (8 oz) vent tubes should be relocated to improve usability. 3. Increasing the diameter of the nipple holders would make it easier to accommodate the green nipple parts, which have a slightly larger diameter than the blue ones. If you plan on printing this in PLA, I recommend sealing your print to ensure durability. If you're using PETG, it's still a good idea to seal your print for added protection. However, if you do decide to print in ABS, make sure you have a plan to coat it.
