Small (12.6 cm x 10 cm x 5 cm) lab power supply, built using RD DPS5005 voltage regulator with USB communication board and Mean Well EPS-65 series power supply. Store-bought lab supplies are often bulky and heavy, so I decided to create my own compact and lightweight model. The RD DPS5005 offers a wide range of protections, including over-voltage, over-current, and even over-wattage protection. It's also reasonably priced at around $30. In my opinion, the RD DPS5005 is the best voltage regulator for DIY projects. Electrical characteristics: Voltage: 0 - 27 V; Max. current: 5 A; Power: 65 W. BOM (Bill of Materials): 1) RD DPS5005 voltage regulator — 1 piece; 2) Mean Well EPS-65 power supply (or similar) — 1 piece; 3) Banana connector RTC6002160 — 1 piece; 4) HC-178 M13 5 x 20mm fuse holder ZH-254 — 1 piece; 5) IEC 60320 C8 AC power connector (screw fixed type) — 1 piece; 6) IEC 60320 C7 AC power cable — 1 piece; 7) VHR-4N connector or solder wires directly to PS — 1 piece; 8) VHR-3N connector or solder wires directly to PS — 1 piece; 9) SVH-21T-P1.1 connectors (or solder wires directly to PS) — 4 pieces; 10) KCD1-104 rocker switch (or similar) — 1 piece; 11) FDFD1.25-187(5) crimp terminals for 22-16 AWG wire or solder wires directly to switch — 4 pieces; 12) DIN 7981 screws for USB board, size 2.2 x 6.5 mm — 2 pieces; 13) DIN 7981 screws for PS and case, size 2.9 x 6.5 mm — 6 pieces; 14) DIN 7981 screws for AC power connector, size 2.9 x 16 mm — 2 pieces; 15) AWG 18-19 wire (0.75 mm²), less than 1 meter. Tips: Don't try to print this with ABS plastic; PLA or PETG are suitable materials. No supports are needed for the case grill. Make sure your printer's extrusion rate and geometry settings are correct. The nominal output voltage for Mean Well EPS-65 is 24 V, but by rotating the SVR1 potentiometer, it can be adjusted up to 28 V.
