DPad with Buttons
thingiverse
This design is an innovative dpad with four additional buttons, tailored for seamless integration with the Xbox Adaptive Controller (XAC). The entire part comprises 4 distinct components: a top box section, a bottom box section, and two unique button designs that are pressed by users. These individual components can be easily downloaded as stl and SolidWorks files. Inside the design, there are eight square slots strategically placed to securely hold keyboard switches in position. We specifically selected Green Cherry MX Keyswitches (https://mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_list&c=48) for optimal fit within these square slots. To complete the circuit, we connect the buttons to a 3.5mm aux cable through soldering. A link to the exact chord used is available at shorturl.at/bhiF3. For added stability and secure connection, zipties are employed to tie together the top and base of each switch assembly.
