I'm over here in the UK too. When I mention Square Line gutter, I'm talking about a widely available type that's commonly used (Floplast is one manufacturer, but there might be others). You should note that what suits me might not suit your specific application if you're using something different. I built a vertical planter from Square Line guttering to grow my strawberries. It has two levels and features a short downpipe connecting the upper level to the lower one, as well as an outlet at the bottom. This mesh is designed to simply drop into the downpipe connector to prevent the soil/compost being washed away as any excess water flows out. You may want to give it a try as a simple leaf filter for a regular Square Line gutter. However, I'm not sure how well it will handle heavy rain; its flow rate might be insufficient.
