Sit above and around downlights on the loft side of the ceiling to prevent insulation from getting too close. This setup allows the ceiling to be insulated while preventing overheating, which creates cold spots and breaks in your insulation. Secure in place with three small woodscrews and feed wires through the hole in the top. The wires should then run over the top of the insulation to avoid thermal insulation, which can cause issues. If you're unsure, consider hiring a professional electrician to do this job. For optimal results, use ABS or PET-G materials due to their higher glass transition temperatures. I wouldn't recommend using a home-printed hood with incandescent bulbs or high-powered LEDs, as they consume too much power and generate excessive heat. A 3W light is sufficient for rooms with multiple downlights.
