Downforce Generator (Spoiler) for RCLifeOn's RC Airboat
thingiverse
After having a blast with RCLifeOn's Airboat, but struggling to get the nose up high enough to leave the water behind, I decided to create a downforce generator (Spoiler) to push the back end down more and raise the nose slightly. Obviously, you'll need to print two - one for each side - and just attach the bases to the rear of the boat, allowing the spoilers to slot in and out when needed. Using superglue and activator spray, I made a very solid bond. 09/24/2018 - I finally had the chance to test this out. I think it works really well at bringing the front end up out of the water and adding some stability. The video is on my YouTube channel here: https://youtu.be/MPdxkB_bUJI 08/28/2018 - I updated to V2. I made the lug at the bottom of the spoiler a little smaller since it required sanding to fit inside the base. Here's RCLifeOn's original Airboat design, which is amazing: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2988203 And here's my waterproof hatch design for the Airboat: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3068383
