Down Holder for Geeetech Prusa i3 stabilisers
thingiverse
For my Prusa i3 and Geeetech clone, I encountered a major issue - stabilization problems on the Z-axis and excessive vibrations. I scoured Thingiverse for solutions, but most involved attaching a rod from the Y-axis to the top of the Z-axis, which wasn't feasible for me since it would make my printer larger and less portable. I designed two separate down holders that can be mounted directly onto the threaded rods of the Y-axis using screws. This provides excellent stability and reduces vibrations significantly due to the added weight of a sturdy plate. I sourced some standard Ikea furniture screws, which worked perfectly. The plate is made from 19mm thick MDF, measuring 500 x 400 mm in size. The screws have a length of 12.4mm, an 8mm diameter head, and a 6.3mm thread diameter. Feel free to ask questions or modify the designs as needed. Print Settings: Resolution: 0.2 Infill: 20-25% Notes: PLA at 205°C with a maximum speed of 40mm/s. Best results achieved while printing in an upright orientation.
