Dowel Lock Bracket
thingiverse
I designed and created this custom dowel lock bracket myself. It was made specifically for a unique phone extension pole / tripod project, but its versatility means it can be used in countless other applications as well. The design allows it to serve as a single universal part that doesn't have left or right halves. Instead, you simply print two or more of the same part as needed. You can see a time-lapse video of this bracket being printed at https://youtu.be/Js5yqN42CuE. These brackets fit snugly onto a standard 7/16" dowel and are designed to be infinitely stackable, limited only by the length of the screw that holds them together. Additionally, they can be mated in any orientation at 45-degree increments. Print Settings: Printer: M3D Micro Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: Medium Infill: Medium Notes: These print settings are specific to my M3D Micro printer and the software it uses for printing. I used M3D Opaque 3D ink (Apple Green, Code: PLA) for this project. My general tips for successful M3D printing include using blue painters tape on the bed for PLA material and wiping the tape down with isopropyl alcohol to remove any oils or residue before printing. Pre-heating the print bed with tape using a heat gun or hair dryer before printing also helps ensure consistent results, especially for large prints.
