Dovetail Joinery Box
cults3d
When my kids were young, I gave them presents I thought they'd love, but they ended up playing with the box instead. Now that my wife has seen my latest project, the "Do Nothing Box", she likes the box itself, but wants it a bit smaller. So, I built the Dovetail Joinery Box. As an experienced woodworker, I couldn't just build any ordinary box, so I added dovetail joinery to the sides. This design is much easier to create than its wooden counterpart. The box was designed using Sketchup 8 and printed in PLA with Makerware on a Replicator 2. I've made two of these boxes with different color combinations. I'd love to see what colors you chose! As a final note, I've uploaded all the ".skp" files used to build this project. Feel free to modify any component - just like I did when I added my wife's name to "Front.stl". We both would enjoy seeing your results.
