Installing a Vixen-style dovetail clamp on a Meade DS-2000 single-arm mount is made easy with an adapter plate designed specifically for this purpose. This versatile adapter can also be used to mount other types of clamps and fixtures, or with a central stud. The six millimeter mounting holes are strategically spaced 17.5 millimeters apart, center-to-center. To attach the clamp shown in the picture, two M6x16mm screws, two M6 nuts, and two M6 washers are required. Begin by inserting the two nuts into the corresponding openings on the back side of the adapter. It's essential to ensure that the index tab on the adapter aligns perfectly with the groove on the socket. Next, use four M4 washers and reuse the original four screws that secure the clamshell or L-bracket to attach the adapter to the arm securely. Finally, attach the clamp to the adapter using the two M6 screws and washers.
