Here are some key updates about my progress with Dougy, the still-evolving penguin model. Currently, I'm focused on incorporating small electronics into him, which requires a more detailed design. My plan is to have them fitted inside him once they're modeled. In preparation for printing Dougy out, it's essential to know that you'll need 3mm thick clear acrylic to create his distinctive mohawk. However, if a laser cutter isn't accessible, the blend file included should allow you to make do without one. Since this model is in the works, please note that I'm sharing the file 'as is.' When printing Dougy out, be sure to have an exacto knife ready to carefully remove the print bed. The 3D printer at our maker space has been producing warped prints, and removing this homemade raft really makes a difference in getting quality results.
