Douglas ROMBUS Spacecraft
thingiverse
This model is based on the Douglas ROMBUS (Reusable Orbital Module-Booster & Utility Shuttle) spacecraft concept designed by engineer Philip Bono in 1964. The .stl files contain all of the individual components to assemble this spacecraft. The first stage of the spacecraft is made up of the first four files listed, and the second stage consists of the fifth through eighth files. 16 blue inserts are meant to be glued into the holes in some of the components, into which 6mm by 3mm magnets can also be secured. There is also a blue peg that is meant to be glued into the Gemini adapter so that the capsule can rest on top of it. All of the parts combined create an approximately 12-inch tall, modular, playable model. Features include removable rocket boosters, second stage, nosecone, and Gemini capsule. Enjoy!
