The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously known as Goonybird, Skytrooper, and Dakota, originated from the Civilian DC-3. Extensively utilized by Allies during WWII, this aircraft transported cargo and personnel worldwide, paratroopers, towed gliders, and performed logistical tasks. Its crew consisted of a pilot, co-pilot, navigator, radio operator, and a cargo master in many operations. Powered by Pratt and Whitney R1830-901C Twin Wasp engines, it had retractable landing gears for rough field operations. Used by every allied service during WWII, these aircraft still operate in military and civilian roles today. A recent turboprop conversion prolongs their lifespan. The model, built near to scale, boasts detailed textures, animatable parts, and multiple formats for downloading.
