The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously known as Goonybird, Skytrooper, or Dakota, was a military version of the DC-3 aircraft. During World War II, it played a crucial role in transporting cargo and personnel worldwide for Allied forces. With a capacity to carry 28 troops plus crew, these planes were also used for paratrooping, glider towing, logistics, and utility purposes. Powered by Pratt and Whitney Twin Wasp engines, the Skytrain could operate on rough fields due to its retractable landing gear. Despite being developed in the 1930s, these planes are still operational in military and civilian services today. A recent turboprop conversion has extended their lifespan. This model, built near to scale, features detailed textures including rivet patterns, animateable parts like propellers, landing gear, and control surfaces. It is available in multiple formats for download.
