The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously known as Goonybird, Skytrooper, and Dakota, was a wartime workhorse developed from the Civilian DC-3. During World War II, it transported cargo, personnel, paratroopers, towed gliders, and performed various logistical tasks for the Allies. Powered by Pratt & Whitney R1830-901C Twin Wasp engines, these aircraft could carry 28 troops or a significant amount of cargo while boasting retractable landing gear for rough field operations. Despite their age, they still serve in numerous military and civilian capacities today, with some even undergoing turboprop conversions for further longevity. This model, built to near-scale specifications, showcases impressive detailing, including textured surfaces with rivet patterns, animateable parts like propellers, landing gear, ailerons, and rudders, and is available in multiple formats upon download.
