The Douglas F4D Skyray, later known as the F-6 Skyray, was the last naval fighter produced by Douglas before its merger with McDonnell. This delta wing aircraft boasted supersonic capabilities and had a relatively short lifespan with the US Navy, spanning from 1956 to 1964 without ever engaging in combat. However, it made history as the first carrier-based aircraft to hold the world's absolute speed record. The model shown here is a scale representation of the F4D Skyray at 1:100, printed at an even smaller scale of 1:285 using a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.12mm layers. The image depicts the aircraft as it was printed, showcasing its intricate details.
