The model features full textures and all necessary materials, animating its turbines, flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators, and landing gear with an option to hide the latter for "gear up" flights. Built nearly to scale, it is available in diverse formats. A rival of the 707 series, the Douglas DC-8 was developed concurrently and shared similar designs and capabilities. Debuting in 1957, these aircraft were popular with airlines and boasted good safety records until their passenger service ended in the late '70s. Many were repurposed for freight, serving well into the following decades; some still fly today as cargo planes, marking five decades since their inception.
