The fully textured Douglas DC-8 model features animateable turbines, flaps, ailerons, rudder, elevators, and landing gear that can be hidden for gear up flight. Built near to scale, it's available in various formats and was a rival to the 707 series. Developed during the same time period, both aircraft shared similar design and capabilities; they were among the first practical jet airliners capable of intercontinental range with larger capacity. First flying in 1957, these planes boasted a good safety record and were utilized on main airline routes until the late '70s.
