The Douglas DC-7, an American transport aircraft produced by Douglas Aircraft Company between 1953 and 1958, was their last major piston-engine plane before jet aircraft emerged. The DC-7B featured increased range for transcontinental US flights without refueling; 112 of these were manufactured.
