The DC-4 model boasts high detail, fully textured construction, and near-scale accuracy. Exterior features are intricately designed, while several parts like propellers, flaps, elevators, rudder, ailerons, landing gear, and doors can be animated. Introduced pre-WWII in 1939 by Eastern and United, the DC-4 was later converted to military use during WWII, resulting in 1,100 C-54s and R5Ds produced. After the war, 79 more were made for airlines, with many military planes returning to commercial use. Passenger capacity ranged from 40 to 80, cruising at 227 mph with a range of 4,250 miles and service ceiling of 22,300 feet; as of 2014, some DC-4s remain in operation.
