This detailed medium to high polygon model showcases the DC-4 aircraft, fully textured and near scale. All textures and materials are included for download in various formats. The DC-4 first entered service with Eastern and United pre-WWII in 1939, but faced maintenance issues and low efficiency. WWII's outbreak led to its conversion for military use; 1100 C-54s and R5Ds were produced. Post-war, 79 DC-4s were created for airlines, with many ex-military planes reentering commercial service. Passenger capacity ranged from 40 to 80, cruising at 227 mph with a range of 4250 miles and 22300 feet ceiling. DC-4s remain operational as of 2014.
