The detailed, high polygon model showcases the DC-4 aircraft with its fully textured exterior, nearly to scale design, and numerous animateable features like propellers, flaps, elevators, rudder, ailerons, landing gear, and landing gear doors. It comes with all required textures and materials in various formats for immediate downloading. The DC-4 entered service pre-WWII in 1939 but proved complex to maintain and less efficient for commercial use. However, the US entry into WWII led to its production being diverted to military use, resulting in 1100 C-54s and R5Ds being produced. Post-war, 79 DC-4s were manufactured for airlines while many C-54s and R5Ds returned to civilian commercial use. These planes carried 40-80 passengers with a cruising speed of 227 mph, range of 4250 miles, and service ceiling of 22300 feet. DC-4s remain in service as of 2014.
