cgtrader
The DC-4 model is highly detailed, medium to high polygon, fully textured, and near scale. It boasts numerous exterior features and animatable parts such as propellers, flaps, elevators, rudder, ailerons, landing gear, and landing gear doors. All textures and materials are included in downloadable formats. The DC-4 originally entered service with Eastern and United pre-WWII in 1939 but faced maintenance issues and low efficiency for commercial use. With the onset of WWII, production was diverted to military use, resulting in 1100 C-54s and R5Ds. Post-war, 79 DC-4s were produced for airlines while many C-54s and R5Ds transitioned back to civilian commercial use. Capable of carrying 40-80 passengers with a cruising speed of 227 mph, a range of 4250 miles, and a service ceiling of 22300 feet, DC-4s remain in service as of 2014.
