The model comes with provided textures and materials for download in several formats. First introduced by Eastern and United pre-WWII in 1939, the DC-4 faced maintenance complications and wasn't efficient enough for commercial use. As a result, requests led to the development of simpler, smaller aircraft. However, World War II changed the course, with 1100 C-54s and R5Ds being produced during the war. Post-war, 79 DC-4s were manufactured for airlines, while many C-54s and R5Ds reverted to civilian commercial use. The aircraft accommodated 40 to 80 passengers with a cruising speed of 227 mph, range of 4250 miles, and service ceiling of 22300 feet. As of 2014, some DC-4s remain in service.
