The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, also known as Goonybird, Skytrooper, and Dakota, was a war workhorse derived from the Civilian DC-3. Used extensively by Allied forces during WWII, it transported cargo and personnel worldwide, dropped paratroopers, towed gliders, and performed logistical tasks. Powered by Pratt & Whitney R1830-901C Twin Wasp engines, the Skytrain featured retractable landing gear for rough field operations and was employed by every allied service. Remarkably, it still serves in military and civilian roles today; even a turboprop conversion has extended its life. This model, built nearly to scale, boasts detailed textures, including rivet patterns, and animateable parts like propellers, landing gear, and control surfaces. It comes with textures and materials as shown, and is available in multiple formats for immediate downloading.
