The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, alternatively called Goonybird or Dakota, was a war-time workhorse derived from the Civilian DC-3. During World War II, these planes played a vital role transporting cargo and personnel worldwide, also performing logistical duties, towing gliders, and deploying paratroopers for Allied forces. The aircraft featured Pratt & Whitney R1830-901C engines driving 3-bladed propellers, retractable landing gear, and could carry up to 28 troops or a cargo master in addition to the pilot, co-pilot, navigator, and radio operator. Despite being built over 75 years ago, these planes continue serving various military and civilian operations today. A turboprop conversion has extended their lifespan, while this model - near scale and highly detailed, including engine textures and patterns - offers animateable propellers, landing gear, ailerons, flaps, elevators, and rudder. Available in multiple formats for downloading, this model comes with the displayed textures and materials.
