The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously called Goonybird, Skytrooper, and Dakota, was a military adaptation of the Civilian DC-3. Widely used by Allies in WWII for cargo, personnel transportation, paratroopers, glider towing, logistics, and utilities, it could carry up to 28 troops plus crew members. Powered by Pratt & Whitney R1830-901C engines and featuring retractable landing gear, these aircraft operated on rough fields. Serving various allied forces during WWII, they still function in military and civilian roles today; even turboprop conversions have extended their lifespan. This model, built nearly to scale, boasts detailed textures including rivet patterns and animateable parts like propellers, landing gear, and ailerons. Available in multiple formats for downloading.
