The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously known as Goonybird, Skytrooper, or Dakota, was a military adaptation of the Civilian DC-3. Used extensively by Allies during WWII, it transported cargo and personnel worldwide, served as a paratroop carrier, glider tug, and utility aircraft. Powered by Pratt and Whitney R1830-901C Twin Wasp engines with 3-bladed propellers, its retractable landing gears allowed operation on rough fields. Employed by every Allied service in WWII, these aircraft continue to function in military and civil operations globally; even a turboprop conversion extends their lifespan. This near-scale model features intricate detailing, animateable parts (propellers, landing gear, ailerons, flaps, elevators, rudder), and is available in various formats for immediate download, including textures and materials as shown.
