The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously known as Goonybird or Dakota, was developed from the DC-3 civilian aircraft. Widely utilized by Allies during World War II, this versatile plane served various roles such as cargo transportation, paratrooper drops, glider towing, and logistical tasks. Equipped with Pratt & Whitney engines driving 3-bladed propellers, it could carry up to 28 troops or a substantial cargo. Remarkably, its retractable landing gear allowed operations from rough terrains. Allied services employed this aircraft extensively during WWII; it continues to serve in military and civilian capacities worldwide even today, with turboprop conversions extending its lifespan further. This model is designed near-to-scale, featuring detailed engines, animateable propellers, landing gear, ailerons, flaps, elevators, and rudder. The downloadable model includes textures and materials, showcasing rivet patterns on most surfaces. Multiple formats are available for immediate downloading.
