The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, famously called Goonybird, Skytrooper, and Dakota, was developed from the Civilian DC-3. Widely used by Allies during World War II, it transported cargo and personnel globally, aided paratroopers, towed gliders, and served logistical purposes. It accommodated 28 troops alongside pilots, navigators, radio operators, and cargo masters. Powered by Pratt & Whitney R1830-901C Twin Wasp engines, its retractable landing gear enabled operation on rough fields. Every Allied service employed it during World War II; it continues to serve in military and civilian roles worldwide. A turboprop conversion extends its lifespan. This model, nearly at scale, boasts detailed textures, including rivet patterns, animateable parts like propellers, landing gear, ailerons, flaps, elevators, and rudder. The download includes multiple formats and comes with displayed textures and materials.
