The Douglas A-26B, A-26C, B-26B, B-26C, and A-26K, built by Dreamscape Studios, are recent high value models. These intricately detailed, near-to-scale replicas boast realistic paint jobs, textures, and numerous features. They include animated elements such as propellers, ailerons, elevators, flaps, rudder, cowling flaps, landing gear retraction, and landing gear doors, making them excellent for video animations and animation models. The A-26B Invader was developed by Douglas in the 1940s as a low-level attack and bomber aircraft with 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannons. It featured an internal bomb bay, fast speed, and rugged reliability. Produced in 1943, A-26B models had a hard nose with a navigator/gun loader stationed in the forward cockpit and eight machine guns mounted in the nose for ground attack and supporting ground troops during low to medium level bombing missions. A-26C models featured a clear nose with a navigator-bombardier stationed inside. Machine guns remained in the wings, and strafing was also a part of its capabilities. After WWII, these aircraft continued to serve in the USAAF and USAF under the B-26 designation. During the Korean conflict, both B-26B and C models saw active service. The A-26 underwent significant upgrades with refinements in wing, structure, power plant, increased horsepower, external weapons storage, tip tanks, and was designated as A-26K. In the mid-1960s, A-26 and B-26 models were again active in combat during the Vietnam conflict. The A-26 and B-26 aircraft were sold to various nations for their air forces or converted into civil use, executive transports, firefighter water tankers, or preserved as museum pieces and warbirds for public display.
