Each model includes geometrically accurate radial engines, elaborate cockpit and rear gunner interiors with functional controls and instruments, and detailed components in the C models' forward position. The models also feature animated propellers, ailerons, elevators, flaps, inboard flaps, rudder, cowling flaps, landing gear retraction, and landing gear doors for realistic animations. Created in 2016, these models are perfect for video animation and serve as exceptional animation models. The A-26B Invader was developed by Douglas to replace the A-20 and B-26 bombers during the early 1940s. The A-26 served as a low-level attack and bomber platform, equipped with 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannons, an internal bomb bay, and high maneuverability. A-26B models featured a 'hard nose' with a navigator/gun loader in the forward cockpit and a gunner in the rear; eight machine guns were mounted in the nose for staffing, ground attack, and low to medium level bombing missions supporting ground troops. In contrast, A-26C models had a clear nose with the navigator bombardier stationed inside, while retaining wing-mounted machine guns for strafing capabilities. Post-war, these aircraft remained in frontline service under the USAAF and later the USAF, being redesignated B-26 in 1948 when the attack designation was abandoned. During the Korean conflict, B-26B and C models saw active service. The A-26 underwent a major upgrade with refinements in wing, structure, power plant, increased horsepower, external weapons stores under wings, tip tanks for extended fuel load, and combat loiter time. Designated A-26K, these upgraded aircraft also saw action in the mid-1960s during the Vietnam conflict. Additionally, the A-26 and B-26 were sold to various international air forces, with some converted for civil use as executive transports, firefighting water tankers, or preserved for museum display and warbird public exhibitions.
