Built in 2016, these models are perfect for video animations and animation projects. The Douglas A-26B Invader was developed by the Douglas Company in the early 1940s as a low-level attack and bomber platform with 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannon. It featured an internal bomb bay and could deliver a significant bomb load. Fast, rugged, and reliable, A-26B models had a "hard nose" with a navigator/gun loader in the forward cockpit and a gunner in the rear. The A-26C model had a clear nose, housing the navigator bombardier while retaining wing-mounted machine guns for strafing capabilities. Produced in 1943, these aircraft saw extensive service during WWII. After the war, they remained in frontline use with the USAAF and later the USAF, redesignated B-26 in 1948 when attack designations were abandoned. The A-26B and C saw active duty during the Korean conflict and underwent major upgrades as A-26K models in the late 1950s. They returned to combat service in the mid-1960s during the Vietnam War. Apart from military use, A-26 and B-26 were sold to other nations for their air forces or converted into civil uses, executive transports, firefighting water tankers, or museum/warbird exhibits.
