The Douglas A-26B, C, B-26B, C, and A-26K models by Dreamscape Studios are cutting-edge aviation simulations. These highly detailed aircraft are near scale in dimensions, boasting fully painted exteriors with realistic textures, and feature numerous intricate components. They include animated propellers, ailerons, elevators, flaps, rudder, cowling flaps, landing gear retraction, and landing gear doors. Developed in 2016, these models offer exceptional video animation capabilities and are ideal for aviation enthusiasts. The A-26 Invader was designed by Douglas in the early '40s as a low-level attack and bomber aircraft with 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannons. It featured an internal bomb bay and high speed, making it a reliable choice during WWII. The A-26B model had a "hard nose" housing the navigator/gun loader in the forward cockpit alongside the pilot and gunner at the rear. These were used for staffing, ground attack, and supporting ground troops in low to medium level bombing missions. The A-26C model featured a clear nose with the navigator-bombardier stationed inside. Machine guns remained in the wings for strafing capabilities. After WWII, these aircraft continued to serve in the USAAF and USAF before being redesignated B-26 in 1948. During the Korean conflict, both the B-26B and C models saw active service. The A-26K underwent a major upgrade with refinements in wing structure, power plant, increased horsepower, external weapon stores under wings, tip tanks for extended fuel load, and loiter time in combat areas. These upgrades were implemented during the Vietnam conflict when the A-26s saw active combat service once more. The A-26 and B-26 models were also exported to other nations' air forces or repurposed for civil use as executive transports, firefighting water tankers, or preserved in museums for public display as warbirds.
