The Douglas A-26B, A-26C, B-26B, B-26C, and A-26K models, created by Dreamscape Studios, are their latest high-value aircraft designs. These models are constructed close to scale in dimensions, fully painted with realistic textures, and contain intricate details. They include geometrically accurate radial engines, detailed cockpits and rear gunner positions, and animated features such as propellers, ailerons, elevators, flaps, rudder, cowling flaps, landing gear retraction, and landing gear doors. The A-26B Invader was designed by Douglas in the 1940s to replace the A-20 bombers and Martin B-26, functioning as a low-level attack and bomber platform with 14 machine guns or gun combinations. It featured an internal bomb bay and high bomb-carrying capacity, along with fast speeds for a twin-engine radial aircraft. These planes entered production in 1943, served extensively during WWII, and were utilized in the Korean conflict and Vietnam War after redesignation as B-26. The A-26 models saw action in various roles including staffing, ground attack, and low to medium level bombing missions. The A-26C had a clear nose, with the navigator/bombardier stationed inside, while machine guns remained in the wings for strafing capabilities. Post-war, these aircraft were used by the USAAF and USAF until 1948 when they were redesignated B-26. The A-26K underwent major upgrades, including wing refinements, increased horsepower, external weapons storage, and tip tanks for enhanced fuel load and loiter time. These models were sold to foreign nations for military use or converted into civil transports, firefighting water tankers, or flying warbirds for public display in museums.
