The landing gear can be retracted or extended. Available in various formats, this bomber was utilized by the United States Army Air Corps and Royal Canadian Air Force, based on the commercial DC-2. A more powerful B-18A version emerged with Wright R-1820-53 engines and a relocated bombardier's station, of which 217 were built. Produced during the mid-1930s, it saw action in WWII. Several versions were crafted, each with a distinct nose section. Post-war, many surviving B-18s served as trainer aircraft for bombardiers and gunners in the US. Some were loaned to Russia, Australia, and sent to Britain.
