The Douglas A-26B, A-26C, B-26B, B-26C, and A-26K produced by Dreamscape Studios are their latest high value models. These models are built near to scale with precise dimensions, fully painted and textured for realistic appearances, and contain intricate details. They feature detailed radial engines, partially modeled cockpits and gunner positions, animated features like propellers, ailerons, flaps, and landing gear, and were newly constructed in 2016. These models make excellent video animations and animation subjects. The A-26B Invader was developed by Douglas in the early '40s as a replacement for the A-20 and B-26 bombers. Designed as a low-level attack and bomber platform, it had 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannons, an internal bomb bay, and high speed capabilities. Produced in 1943, these aircraft saw significant action during WWII. The A-26B models featured a 'hard nose' with a navigator/gun loader in the forward cockpit and eight machine guns in the nose for ground attack and low-medium level bombing missions. The A-26C model had a clear nose, with the navigator-bombardier stationed there, and retained wing-mounted machine guns for strafing capabilities. After WWII, these aircraft remained in service until 1948 when they were redesignated as B-26s. During the Korean conflict, B-26B and C models saw active duty, and the A-26K underwent major upgrades for increased performance and external weapons storage during the Vietnam War. The A-26 and B-26 were sold to other nations for military use or converted into executive transports, firefighter water tankers, or flying warbirds for public display.
