Dreamscape Studios' Douglas A-26B, A-26C, B-26B, B-26C, and A-26K models are top-of-the-line high-value aircraft replicas. These meticulously crafted models boast near-scale dimensions (within a couple of percent), full painting and texturing with realistic maps, and an impressive level of detail. The model features detailed radial engines, partially detailed cockpits, rear gunners' positions, and forward compartments in C models. Additionally, it includes animated propellers, moveable control surfaces, retractable landing gear, and landing gear doors. Originally designed by Douglas in the 1940s as a replacement for A-20 bombers and Martin B-26 aircraft, the A-26B Invader was a low-level attack and bomber plane armed with 14 machine guns or cannon combinations. It featured an internal bomb bay capable of carrying a substantial payload and was renowned for its speed, ruggedness, and reliability. Produced from 1943, these aircraft saw extensive action during World War II. A-26B models had 'hard nose' designs with forward cockpits for navigators/gunloaders and rear gunners. The A-26C model featured a clear nose, housing the navigator bombardier, while retaining wing-mounted machine guns for strafing capabilities. After the war, these aircraft remained in service under the redesignation B-26 until 1948. During the Korean conflict, B-26B and C models experienced active service. In the late 1950s, the A-26 underwent significant upgrades, including wing refinements, increased horsepower, external weapon stores, tip tanks for enhanced fuel capacity, and redesignation as the A-26K. These improvements allowed for extended combat loiter times. The A-26 and B-26 models also found their way into foreign air forces, civil use, executive transports, firefighting water tankers, and museum exhibits as flying warbirds.
