Dreamscape Studios has developed a range of high-value A-26B, A-26C, B-26B, B-26C, and A-26K models. These intricately detailed replicas are near-scale in size, fully painted, and come with realistic textures. They feature numerous components like radial engines, cockpit interiors, and gunner positions. The models also boast animated features such as propellers, ailerons, elevators, flaps, rudder, cowling flaps, landing gear retraction, and opening landing gear doors. Introduced in the early '40s by Douglas Company, the A-26B Invader was designed to replace A-20 bombers and Martin B-26s as a low-level attack and bomber platform. Armed with 14 machine guns or cannons and equipped with an internal bomb bay, this fast, reliable aircraft saw production in 1943 and played a significant role during WWII. A-26B models featured a 'hard nose' with a navigator/gun loader in the forward cockpit and a gunner in the rear. The A-26C had a clear nose, housing a navigator bombardier, while machine guns remained in the wings. Both saw action in Korea and Vietnam conflicts, with the A-26K undergoing significant upgrades like increased horsepower, refined structure, and improved weapons capabilities. Post-war, these aircraft served in the USAAF and USAF, redesignated as B-26s in 1948. They were also exported to other nations for military use or converted into civil transports, firefighter water tankers, or museum/flying warbird exhibits.
