The Douglas A-26B, C, B-26B, C, and A-26K models from Dreamscape Studios are our latest high-value products. These models are near-scale (within a few percent of overall dimensions), fully painted and textured with realistic maps, and feature great detailing. They include detailed radial engines, cockpit and rear gunner positions, animated features such as propellers, flaps, and landing gear retraction, and come in various configurations like hard nose or clear nose models. The A-26B Invader was developed by Douglas in the 1940s as a low-level attack and bomber platform with 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannons. It had an internal bomb bay, fast speed, and reliability. Produced in 1943, these aircraft were extensively used during WWII for staffing, ground attacks, supporting ground troops, and low to medium level bombing missions. The A-26C model featured a clear nose with a navigator/bombardier stationed inside, while the machine guns remained in the wings. The aircraft also had strafing capabilities. After WWII, they served in the USAAF and USAF under the B-26 designation. During the Korean conflict, both B-26B and C saw active service. In the late 1950s, the A-26K underwent a major upgrade with refinements in wing, structure, power plant, and external weapons store under wings. These improvements increased fuel load, loiter time, and combat capabilities. The A-26 and B-26 models were also sold to various nations for military use, used as surplus executive transports or firefighter water tankers, and displayed in museums or flying warbirds for public exhibitions.
