Introducing the latest high-value models by Dreamscape Studios, featuring the Douglas A-26B, A-26C, B-26B, B-26C, and A-26K. These near-scale replicas boast accurate painting, texturing, and detailed mapping. The models offer intricate components, such as well-defined cockpits, rear gunner positions, and in some cases, forward positions. They also feature animated elements like propellers, ailerons, elevators, flaps, rudder, cowling flaps, landing gear retraction, and landing gear doors. Originally developed in the early 1940s as a replacement for the Douglas A-20 bombers and Martin B-26, the A-26B Invader was designed as a low-level attack and bomber platform with 14 machine guns or combinations of machine guns and cannons. It had an internal bomb bay, impressive speed, and reliability. The aircraft entered production in 1943 and saw action during World War II. The A-26B models were characterized by a hard nose with a navigator/gun loader stationed in the forward cockpit, while the A-26C had a clear nose with a navigator bombardier inside. Both versions were used for staffing, ground attack, supporting ground troops during low and medium-level bombing missions, and strafing. Post-war, these aircraft remained in frontline service under the USAAF and USAF until 1948 when they were redesignated as B-26s. During the Korean conflict, the B-26B and C saw active duty, and later, the A-26K underwent a major upgrade with refinements in wing structure, power plant, external weapons storage, tip tanks for increased fuel load, and loiter time in combat areas. The A-26s were also sold to other nations for use in their air forces, converted into executive transports or firefighter water tankers, and preserved as museum pieces or warbirds for public display.
