This unique pen design adds an exciting geometric twist to an everyday writing instrument. Print Settings: Printer: Dremel Idea Builder Rafts: Yes Supports: Yes Resolution: High/Fine Infill: 100% Notes: This project was printed using Simplify3D software and the Dremel Idea Builder, with PLA filament and high detail settings at 100% infill. To avoid unnecessary support material on the inside where the ink will reside, manual supports were added to each end and along the outside of the pen to prevent it from rolling during printing. Design Process: The pen design was created in Fusion 360 by first measuring and modeling the ink refill, then designing the pen body around it. Prior to building the final model, several "pen tip" test pieces with varying hole diameters were produced to determine the optimal size for the ink refill.
